Brooks Community Adult Learning Council
Brooks Community Adult Learning Council (BCALC) is a non-profit organization, which provides ESL instructions to immigrants, refugees and Temporary Foreign Workers as well Employability Enhancement Skills and General interest courses to the wider community. We are also a partner in the delivery of Adult Basic Literacy program.
We are a community leader with 10 years of solid experience in delivering a high quality English as Second Language (ESL) program. We pride ourselves in delivering these services in a warm, caring, and professional environment to a multicultural and multilingual clientele.
BCALC is located on the ground floor of the Interpipeline building at 303 8th Street East.
Our student population number approximately 160. Students originate from countries such as China, Columbia, Congo, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Mexico, Somalia, Sudan, Ukraine etc. We offer 8 classes of Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) and 2 ESL classes each day and which are taught by our very capable and experienced instructors.
In the very near future we plan to offer a more diversified assortment of general interest courses to the wider adult community in Brooks.
